[...] Remember when the Chinese television networks created CGI versions of Tiger Woods’ Most Excellent Adventure in December? I’m actually quite surprised that American networks haven’t picked up on gossip animation yet. And it made the buzz all over the Internet overnight. Here’s a link to that older post HERE. [...]

I think the fraud is in this silly delusional belief that athletes are "heroes" and deserve to be looked up to and idolized. Stupid. Stupid. They are all human beings just like the rest of us. Winning a game does not make you a hero; maybe a good strategist or lucky. To me, heroes benefit or save other people's lives somehow.

In a way, I 'pity' Tiger as he had to keep face to fit the false American dream of a sports hero at the same time as living the 'keep up with the Joneses' social constrictors and corporate mandates to continue receiving large payoffs. No wonder it all fell apart finally. The pressure of perfection and the mantle of 'hero' for winning games is ludicrous.

Hey Robert,

Thanks for the kind words on the last conference. We are in fact bringing the BBS to Chicago this September (17th through the 19th), and if you're interested in "flying all over the place" to attend, shoot me and e-mail and I'll hook you up with a discount:

jason (at) blogbusinesssummit.com

Dear Robert in Seattle,
I found your blog because we both share a love for the movie "4 Rooms", and I have enjoyed reading your posts, it sounds like you have led a very intersting life. Although, I feel I must point out a coincidental lapse. I agree that tivo will not erode the marketplace, however, I must say, as a broadcaster, that podcasting will not erode the need for locally broadcast terrestrial radio. Content is still very important and should be monitored for quality, but podcasting cannot replace the need of knowing "everything is ok." As long as the annoying dj is talking about b.s., the listener knows everything is ok, they're not missing an important news story (hurricane Katrina, 9/11, or a local calamity like a traffic snafu, building on fire etc.)Podcasting IS growing in popularity, but if you thought something was wrong, you would tune into the radio before listening to someone's pre-recorded idea of good radio.
I mean no disrespect, I enjoy your viewpoint, just showing you another side... and sticking up for my job.
Thanks for your time,
cyndeecampbell@blogspot.com
